Building Belonging Island

Developed and curated by Inca-Hide Wright, Georgie Pilling and Charlotte Stevens from the University of Warwick, Building Belonging Island was an interactive experience which formed part of the Resonate Summer Festival on 30th May 2026.

On arrival, visitors were given a map of the island and invited to explore aspects of belonging through a range of activities. In different locations, islanders shared their special skills, decorated pebbles to leave on the beach, made flags, built homes, and wrote poems and songs. The zine below was crafted in the weeks following the event, inspired by contributions on the day.
