Imagining the Future with Coventry Biennial

  • Herbert Art Gallery (map)

Do you have an idea what about what Coventry might look like in the future?

We’re running drop-in activities in Learning Space One at the Herbert Art Gallery, as part of our collaboration with Coventry Biennial. Come along and get stuck-in with the following activities:

The Future Tree

Pop by our space to share your ideas as part of our collaborative art piece. Using acrylic circles and permanent pens, make your own piece of mock stained glass to hang on our Future Tree and add your ideas to hundreds of others from across the region.

Directions for the Ear: Exploring the Soundscape

Listen to field recordings from sites urban, rural and wild, with prompts to reflect on the role of sound in your life and exercises for tuning in to the sonic environment. Tell us what sounds make a difference in your life, for better and for worse, and what sounds you would like to hear more of! Your written reflections will help compose a listening tree for future sounds of Coventry.

This event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2023 and was made possible thanks to funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
