Human Factors in Computer Systems

  • International Manufacturing Centre Coventry, England, CV4 7AJ United Kingdom (map)

This opening talk for the series is titled "The Blind Spot in Every Cyber Strategy: Bias as a Silent Adversary in Cybersecurity".

Join us for the launch of Human Factors in Computer Systems - a new seminar series led by Dr. Elzbieta Titis exploring how people, technology, and design shape our digital world. This public engagement initiative brings together researchers, practitioners, and the public to discuss timely topics in cyber security, AI, and usability, with a focus on inclusive and evidence-based system design.

Cyber security is not just about firewalls and encryption -  it is also about people. In this thought-provoking talk, Professor Pogrebna explores how cognitive bias and human behaviour influence cyber defence. From flawed threat analysis to bias in AI-driven tools, she reveals how hidden assumptions can expose organisations to risk. Learn how behavioural science can help build fairer, more resilient digital systems.

This event is recommended for ages 18+.
