Preserving and Adapting: Placing Heritage in the Sustainable Futures of Coventry

  • St Mary's Guildhall Coventry, England, CV1 5RN United Kingdom (map)

Preserving and Adapting: Placing Heritage in the Sustainable Futures of Coventry brings together conversations, interactive activities, heritage storytelling and a special afternoon tea session to explore how we care for what we have inherited while also adapting heritage for sustainable futures. We are using Coventry’s heritage as a window into wider questions around preservation, adaptation, community, culture and sustainability.

Together, we will explore:

  • What makes something heritage, and why does it matter?

  • What should we preserve, and what might need to change?

  • Can heritage remain meaningful while its uses and forms evolve?

  • What does it mean to make heritage environmentally, socially, culturally and economically sustainable?

  • What might Coventry’s heritage look like in the future?

This event is free to attend, although event booking is required. The recommended age is 18+.
