Resonate Lates - Community Iftar

  • Warwick Arts Centre Coventry, England, CV4 7AL United Kingdom (map)

You may have heard a lot about fasting in Ramadan but have you experienced a community Iftar with Muslims? Come and enjoy the unity and beauty of our community, which is only strengthened in this blessed month. What to expect? Poetry, Quran recitation & more followed by a communal breaking of the fast meal!

Feel free to bring the little ones along and we’ll make sure to make them feel welcome with some read-alongs and other fun activities!

What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Calendar in which Muslims endeavour to fast from food & drink from pre-dawn till dusk. Whilst the spotlight is shone on the abstinence of physical nourishment, the fasting undertaken is also a cleansing embargo on the soul. Muslims are commanded to fast from all considered evil, be it foul language, discourteousness & focus on worshipping Allah through prayer, Quran, acts of kindness etc.

To experience Ramadan & meet some new people, don't forget to sign up before tickets are gone!

This event is supported by Resonate and hosted by the Warwick Islamic Society. The evening is free to attend but registration is essential.
